I've had these video clips hanging around on my computer for awhile and finally got the chance to put them together for you guys. One of the videos contains clips I took during my orientation in Quito and the other is of different places I've visited around Imbabura (the province I live in). They're not the best quality but it'll give you a better idea of just what the sierra in Ecuador looks like. Enjoy!
(By the way I did not check the spelling of Imbabura before posting the video, hence the misspelled title. My apologies.)
The city of Quito and the district you live in looks extremely packed, the structures stacked together like sardines. Are your neighbors really that close to you? Did you know that panecillo means muffin or bread roll? That volcano place you saw, Pululahua, was really cool. Can you imagine living inside it? (I saw houses and agricultural lands so I assumed people actually live there). Aren't they worried that it could erupt again or something? (jk...but that would be a freaky situation...you would be eating breakfast and then all of a sudden the thing erupts....so much for those chocolate pancakes ;D) La Mitad del Mundo does not actually look like the middle of the world, more like the center of a town. Does the view from high up make it seem that way? One thing about Ecuador is that it has spectacular views..who was with you on Picincha? Was that a snapping turtle someone was irritating? If so, it is a good thing is was behind that fence, beacuse it looked like it wanted to snap through the metal and take you guys out. Btw, who would write graffiti in such a beautiful place (the one with the waterfalls)? That makes me sad :( Anyway, I see what you were talking about...Ecuador does have its ups and downs...these views are definitely a plus, and you get to live right in the middle of all the beauty! Lucky!
Oh my, Christina! I don't even know where to start. lol How about we set up a Skype date and I'll fill you in and answers all of your questions? ;) Shoot me an email when you have a second and we'll figure something out.
